When to Postpone Parasailing in Hurghada

When should you postpone parasailing in Hurghada? Check weather decisions, sea conditions and your comfort before confirming participation.

Before you postpone parasailing in Hurghada: confirm the booking terms

The standalone parasailing product is €25 for ages 11+ and €15 for ages 4–10 inclusive; ages 0–3 are free. It describes approximately 10–15 minutes in the air within an activity lasting around 1.5 hours. Harness, life jacket and Hurghada transfers are included. Tandem flying depends on combined weight, equipment and conditions; the crew decides eligibility. Water games are not included. Makadi Bay/Sahl Hasheesh add €5 per person; Soma Bay/Safaga/El Gouna add €10 per person.

Payment and participation: No advance deposit is required. Pay cash in euros to our representative on the trip day, at pickup before the excursion begins. This does not mean cancellation or non-attendance is free. Agree the program, total and any optional purchase, and confirm the actual participation requirements before booking.

Use these checks to decide what to discuss with the operator before participation. They do not replace the crew’s operating decision or individual professional advice. Keep a written record of any date change, total and cancellation terms.

1) When the crew postpones for wind

Wind and gusts require an operating assessment. Do not use how calm the beach looks, another boat’s departure or a sunny forecast as permission to fly. Ask the crew whether your booking will proceed and record any revised time or arrangement.

A combined parasailing-and-safari ticket does not remove the weather restrictions on the flight. Any replacement activity needs its own suitability check and agreement.

2) When sea conditions or the boat journey cause concern

Report concerns about the boat movement, boarding or your comfort to the crew. Follow their instructions and ask how a decision to stop or postpone affects your booking. This article does not establish a safe sea-state threshold.

3) When you feel unwell on a boat

If you feel unwell, postpone and ask for appropriate advice. For prevention, consult a pharmacist or clinician before travel rather than improvising medication on the boat.

4) When sun exposure makes participation uncomfortable

Tell the operator if you are uncomfortable with the harness, clothing contact or further sun exposure. Obtain appropriate advice where needed and agree whether to participate or postpone. A substitute boat trip or desert activity is not automatically suitable.

5) When visibility or weather affects the planned experience

Ask how visibility and weather affect operation and the expected views. Clear photographs on a listing do not establish the conditions on your date. If views are your priority, discuss your options before the trip, without assuming a free date change.

6) When you do not want to participate

Tell the crew about your concerns before boarding or being fitted with equipment. Do not feel pressured to fly because a companion wants to. Ask what happens to the booking if you decide against participation. A personal change of mind and an operator cancellation are different situations under the terms below.

7) When you have lower back issues, shoulder issues, or you’re recovering from injury

Ask an appropriate clinician about your individual health situation and disclose relevant concerns to the operator before booking. Medical advice does not override operator restrictions or the crew’s participation decision. Do not assume another adventure activity is suitable without checking.

8) Pregnancy: obtain individual advice

Discuss pregnancy and activity suitability with a qualified clinician and the operating provider before booking. Do not assume the flight or boat journey is suitable simply because it is short.

9) When a child does not want to fly

Tell the provider each child’s age and ask about harness fit, weight and the proposed arrangement. Do not pressure a reluctant child to participate. The stated child fare and the operator’s general age policy do not override the crew’s assessment.

10) When heat or fatigue affects your plans

Allow for the boat journey, waiting and time outdoors when choosing a departure. Ask about shade and water aboard and avoid a timetable that leaves you exhausted. A morning or late-afternoon booking is not a guarantee of suitable conditions.

11) When the operator cannot answer essential questions

Ask who operates the boat, what briefing and equipment fitting are provided, and who decides whether the flight proceeds. Raise concerns about equipment condition or unclear instructions before participating. A low price, attractive boat or friendly crew does not independently prove safety.

12) When the listed duration does not match your expectations

The standalone listing describes approximately 10–15 minutes in the air within an activity of around 1.5 hours. Transfers and waiting affect the complete hotel-to-hotel schedule. The flight may change for operating conditions; ask about the applicable booking terms rather than assuming extra flying time.

13) When your booking details have changed

If the date, hotel or participants have changed, ask for a revised confirmation before attending. A different child’s age, a new tandem pairing or an outside-Hurghada pickup can affect the arrangement. Do not use the old confirmation as approval for an unreviewed group or assume a missed pickup automatically moves you to another departure.

14) When your swimming ability or comfort needs clarification

Disclose your swimming ability and concerns about open water before booking. Ask the provider what participation requirements, flotation equipment and assistance apply. Do not assume another water activity is suitable without checking its requirements separately.

Quick checklist: should you parasail today?

Before proceeding, resolve the following with the responsible team:

  • Has the crew confirmed that this departure can operate?
  • Does each participant want to take part and understand the briefing?
  • Have concerns about health, comfort, boarding or equipment fit been addressed?
  • Are the current guest list, hotel and pickup details correct?
  • Do you understand what changes or non-participation mean for the booking?

Do not use a beach observation or this checklist to overrule a closure or the crew’s decision. If you feel unwell, tell the team and seek appropriate individual advice rather than treating a paid ticket as a reason to continue.

Choosing a new departure time

There is no time of day that guarantees suitable wind, sea conditions or visibility. Ask the operator for available departures, allow room in your holiday schedule and obtain the revised arrangement in writing. Do not infer a refund, free upgrade or replacement trip.

Current cancellation and date-change terms

Cancellation received at least 24 hours before the confirmed start qualifies for a full refund. Later cancellation and no-show are non-refundable. Deadlines use local Egypt time, and the request must reach the contact details supplied in the booking confirmation.

A date-change request received at least 24 hours ahead has no change fee, subject to availability, any price difference and confirmation. Later requests are not guaranteed. A suggested alternative is not a confirmed new booking until the team accepts it.

If the company cancels, including for unsafe weather, you may choose an available alternative date or a full refund. Any non-refundable ticket or committed-cost exception must be disclosed before payment and included in the confirmation. Read the full cancellation and date-change policy.

For a combination, ask what applies if only one activity is affected or another component has already taken place. Do not assume that postponing parasailing automatically cancels the completed part, guarantees a substitute activity or establishes a particular partial refund.

Confirming the revised booking

Identify the standalone parasailing program, your booking date, party and hotel when contacting the operator. Ask for the crew’s current decision, the available alternatives, the agreed total and the terms that apply if the activity cannot go ahead.

Questions before you book

Does payment on the day mean I can cancel without a charge?

No. No advance deposit is required, and payment is cash in euros to our representative at pickup on the trip day before the excursion begins. Payment timing does not remove the cancellation terms. The current policy provides a full refund for cancellation received at least 24 hours before the confirmed start; later cancellation and no-show are non-refundable. Check any disclosed product-specific exception.

What should a postponement confirmation state?

Request the accepted new date and pickup, the travelers, hotel, any price difference and applicable cancellation terms. A requested date is not confirmed until the team accepts it.

Who decides whether a postponed flight can go ahead?

The operating crew decides from the conditions and equipment on the day. A new booking time does not guarantee that conditions will allow a flight.

What happens if the company cancels for unsafe weather?

Under the current terms, you may choose an available alternative date or a full refund. Confirm the arrangement with the booking team rather than assuming another excursion has been booked automatically.

Can I request a different time less than 24 hours before departure?

You can ask, but a later request is not guaranteed and remains subject to the cancellation policy. Contact the team promptly and keep its reply; do not simply miss the original pickup.

Does a personal decision not to fly guarantee a refund?

No automatic refund follows from a personal change of mind. Tell the team before participation and ask how the confirmed terms apply. Do not pressure yourself or a child to fly merely because the trip has been paid for.

What if parasailing is only one part of my booking?

Ask about the component affected, whether another activity has already taken place and the specific alternatives or charges. Do not assume the same partial-refund calculation applies to every combination.

Can I choose another activity after a cancellation?

Only after confirming availability, price, timing and participation requirements. A boat-viewing trip or desert activity is not automatically suitable or included as a replacement.

Should I rely on a weather app to cancel my pickup?

No. Ask the operator for the status of your actual departure. A general forecast is not a company cancellation notice; obtain confirmation of any revised arrangement.

Which time zone applies to the deadline?

The published terms use local time in Egypt. Use the confirmed tour start and contact the booking team if the timing is unclear. The deadline is based on receipt of the request, not merely when you intended to send it.
