Book Tours from Hurghada to Luxor, Cairo and Islands

Visitors at the Giza Pyramids panorama

Choose tours from Hurghada around the experience you want and the time you have: Luxor for temples and royal tombs, Cairo for the Pyramids and museums, an island boat day for beach time and snorkeling, or a desert program for quad and safari activities. Check the actual route and inclusions before comparing the headline price.

This guide helps you build a varied holiday from our current excursions. Luxor and Cairo are long road days; island trips are full-day boat programs; shorter activities still need time for transfers and preparation. A product’s activity duration is not a promise that you will be back at your hotel at a particular time.

Use the linked tour pages for the program you want, then send your travel date, full hotel name, traveler numbers and children’s ages to confirm availability, pickup and the total. Prices below are current published starting points checked on 23 September 2026, with any applicable supplements and optional purchases identified separately.

Your main interest Program to compare Published duration Price basis
Temples and royal tombs Luxor bus or Luxor minibus About 15 hours Bus €65 adult; minibus €80 adult
Pyramids and museum Cairo with Tahrir Museum or GEM About 17 hours Bus €65 Tahrir or €80 GEM per adult
Beach and snorkeling Paradise Island or Orange Bay About 8 hours Paradise €25 adult /€15 child
Several desert activities Super Safari About 6–7 hours €25 age 11+ /€15 ages 4–10
Focused quad activity Three-hour quad safari About 3 hours €25 age 11+ /€15 ages 4–10
Exclusive sea outing Private speedboat About 4 hours €150 per boat, up to 6 guests
A shorter aerial activity Parasailing About 1.5 hours overall €25 adult /€15 child; participation checked

These are different experiences, not interchangeable packages at different prices. A three-hour quad program does not include every component of Super Safari, and a private speedboat price is for the boat rather than each passenger. Make sure the unit you are comparing is clear.

Pick the one experience you most want first, then fit other plans around the confirmed schedule. Leaving time for your hotel, beach and rest can make the holiday more enjoyable than filling every available day with an excursion.

Luxor: choose the bus or the eight-guest minibus

The Luxor bus excursion covers Karnak, the Valley of the Kings with three standard tombs, Hatshepsut Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. The fare is €65 per adult and €35 per child, with a maximum of 30 guests and a published duration of about 15 hours.

The Luxor minibus covers the same main sites with a maximum of 8 guests, at €80 per adult and €40 per child. Both include an Egyptologist, standard admissions, lunch, drinks and Hurghada hotel transfers. The minibus remains shared rather than private.

Special tombs such as Tutankhamun’s require separate admission if available. A Nile boat activity is optional if offered, and Luxor Temple is not included in this four-site shared route. The Luxor planning guide explains the program and its boundaries in more detail.

Choose this day when temples and tombs are worth the early start and extended travel to you. Tell us about walking or seating needs before booking. The smaller group limit does not guarantee an easier walking route, an earlier return or exclusive use of the vehicle.

Cairo: choose the museum before the vehicle

Our Cairo bus with Tahrir Museum combines the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir with the Giza Pyramids and Great Sphinx. Its published fare is €65 per adult and €35 per child, for a day of about 17 hours. It does not visit the Grand Egyptian Museum.

The GEM and Pyramids bus program visits the Grand Egyptian Museum instead, at €80 per adult and €40 per child. Choose this version if the Tutankhamun Galleries are a key priority, subject to museum operations and ticket access. Both bus products have a maximum of 30 guests.

Smaller shared alternatives are the Tahrir Museum minibus at €80 adult/€40 child and GEM minibus at €95 adult/€50 child, each with a maximum of 8 guests. The museum is determined by the product, not by choosing bus or minibus.

The listed standard museum and Giza Plateau admissions, guiding, lunch, drinks and Hurghada transfers are included. Going inside a pyramid requires a separate ticket. If you are choosing one cultural day, the Cairo versus Luxor comparison helps match the sights and travel time to your priorities.

Island and snorkeling trips: separate boat time from beach time

The Paradise Island excursion is an approximately 8-hour program with about 2 hours on the island and two planned snorkeling stops. Its published fare is €25 per adult and €15 per child. Snorkeling equipment, lunch, drinks and Hurghada transfers are included.

The Orange Bay boat trip also combines a full sea day with planned snorkeling and an island stop. Compare the named beach destination and current program rather than assuming every Giftun-area tour uses the same facilities or provides all-day beach access.

Snorkeling is optional on these programs. Non-swimmers can enjoy the boat and island portions while following crew instructions; choosing not to enter the sea is different from being cleared to snorkel independently. Tell the crew your swimming ability and ask about the equipment and arrangements for your party.

Sailing, snorkeling locations, island time and water activities may change with conditions. Do not choose a tour on the assumption that a particular reef, water game or exact sequence is guaranteed. Ask about an essential requirement before confirmation.

Dolphin House or a private speedboat?

The Dolphin House excursion focuses on the sea and planned snorkeling stops in that area. Dolphins are wild animals: sightings and swimming encounters cannot be guaranteed. Choose it because you want the boat and snorkeling program as well as the possibility of observing wildlife.

The private speedboat is €150 for the whole boat for up to 6 guests, including children, for approximately 4 hours. It includes snorkeling equipment, seasonal fruit, water and soft drinks; a full lunch is not listed. Orange Bay is an optional €10 per guest who visits.

For example, six people sharing the base boat price have a base equivalent of €25 each; four people have €37.50 each. The maximum capacity does not increase because children are smaller. Confirm hotel supplements and optional island costs before comparing the private total with a shared trip.

Desert tours: Super Safari or the shorter quad program?

Super Safari combines quad biking, Spider Buggy, 4×4 Jeep, a Bedouin village, a short camel ride, tea, BBQ dinner and an oriental show in about 6–7 hours. It is the option to compare when you want several desert activities and an evening meal in one program.

The three-hour quad tour focuses on the quad route, with a village visit, short camel ride and tea. It is not a shortened promise of every Super Safari component. Choose between the actual programs according to your interests and the time available.

Both list €25 for age 11+ and €15 for ages 4–10 inclusive; ages 0–3 travel free. The fare category and permission to drive are separate: younger children ride with an accompanying adult, and the guide makes the safety decision for those who may drive. Paying the full fare does not override that assessment.

Wear closed shoes and suitable clothing, and bring the required scarf and protective goggles. The quad program includes a helmet, briefing and test drive; confirm any equipment question before travel. Describe relevant participation needs in advance rather than assuming every desert activity suits every guest.

Shorter activities and combined programs

Parasailing lists about 1.5 hours for the complete activity, with approximately 10–15 minutes in the air. These are different measures of time. The €25 adult/€15 child fare does not guarantee tandem flying or participation regardless of conditions.

The crew checks age, size, combined weight, equipment and weather. A request for two people to fly together requires approval on the day. Professional photo packages and additional water games are not included unless explicitly listed in the confirmed booking.

If you prefer viewing marine life without making snorkeling the main activity, compare the Panorama Semi Submarine program. Read the actual boarding and viewing arrangements and disclose mobility needs. A sea-viewing activity is not automatically step-free or suitable for every traveler.

Combined products can be useful when their timetable fits your plans, but two separate bookings should not be assumed to connect. Ask for confirmation of transfers, waiting time and the full program if you want more than one activity on the same day.

How much should you budget for tours from Hurghada?

Build the budget for all travelers, not just the first adult fare. Add the applicable hotel supplement, then keep optional experiences and personal purchases separate. A low advertised price is useful only when you understand what that amount actually covers.

Check the complete amount before confirming
Cost question What to confirm
Fare basis Per person, child category, or whole private boat/vehicle
Hotel transfer Exact hotel, included area and any supplement
Admissions and equipment Only the tickets or equipment listed for the chosen program
Meals and drinks Lunch, dinner, fruit or drinks as specified; they are not interchangeable
Optional extras Special tickets, island add-ons, water activities or photography
Payment Final total, currency, method and any disclosed exception

For the linked Luxor, island, quad and parasailing programs, Makadi Bay and Sahl Hasheesh transfers are generally listed at €5 per person and Soma Bay, Safaga and El Gouna at €10. Confirm the selected product and your exact hotel. Do not apply a supplement automatically to a private service or another itinerary without checking.

Children’s rules vary by activity. For Cairo and Luxor, age 10+ uses the adult fare and children aged 4–9 use the child fare. Infants aged 0–3 pay €20 on the Cairo Tahrir Museum bus, Cairo GEM bus or Luxor bus; €35 on the Cairo Tahrir Museum mini bus (Hiace) or Luxor mini bus (Hiace); and €40 on the Cairo GEM mini bus (Hiace). Child fares depend on the selected tour. Orange Bay, Paradise Island, Dolphin House, Panorama Semi-Submarine, the standard Quad Bike tour and Super Safari charge €15 for ages 4–10, with ages 0–3 free and adult fares from age 11; spa children receiving massage pay €25, while accompanying children without massage are free; Cairo and Luxor use the child price stated for each tour, including their own infant rules. A whole-boat charter is charged per boat, and children count toward its capacity. Activity eligibility is separate from the fare. Boat capacity and activity participation must be checked separately from price.

A museum’s or attraction’s child admission exemption also does not establish a free excursion seat. The package includes transport and other services, so ask for the complete party quote rather than subtracting an admission price yourself.

Build a holiday schedule you can enjoy

For a week in Hurghada, one cultural excursion, one island day and one desert or shorter activity can provide variety while leaving time at the hotel. This is a planning suggestion, not a fixed package or a requirement to book three trips.

Try to leave a relaxed day between Cairo and Luxor if booking both. After a long road day, another early start may be tiring. A sea trip also involves sun, movement and transfers, so decide whether you want that activity or a genuine hotel rest day.

Check arrival and departure times before reserving. Do not rely on an estimated excursion return for a close flight connection, and do not assume that a three-hour activity can fit into a three-hour gap between other commitments. Include the hotel transfer and preparation time.

Book the most important experience first, then ask which remaining dates work for the others. Avoid paying for overlapping activities on the assumption that schedules will be adjusted later. Keep every confirmed date, program and pickup instruction together.

Preparation, participation and responsible visits

Match your bag to the activity. Cultural tours need comfortable walking shoes, identification as requested and sun protection. Boat days need swimwear if entering the water, a towel and secure storage for personal items. Desert trips need closed shoes and the specified eye and face protection.

Tell us about essential mobility, seating or meal requirements before confirmation. The details determine whether arrangements can be made; a general “family friendly” description cannot confirm them. Bring personal medication and any items you rely on during a long day.

At ancient sites, follow access and photography instructions. For background on the Luxor monuments, see UNESCO’s Ancient Thebes entry. During sea activities, follow the crew briefing, keep clear of coral and wildlife, and do not pressure staff to continue an activity they judge unsafe.

For diving requests, ask the operator about participation screening and the required interval before your flight. Do not use a general excursion-planning article as medical clearance. The introductory diving product is a separate activity with its own requirements, not an automatic addition to every snorkeling trip.

Booking, cancellation and changes

Choose the exact product and send the date, full hotel, travelers and children’s ages. For Cairo, name the museum; for Luxor, choose bus or minibus; for a private boat, state the full group size. Ask for the final total, included services, pickup details and any essential requirement to be confirmed.

Under the current cash-on-arrival arrangement, pay cash in euros to our representative at pickup on the day, before the excursion begins. No advance deposit is required. Any specific non-refundable ticket or committed-cost exception must be disclosed before payment and included in your confirmation.

The booking terms provide a full refund for cancellations received at least 24 hours before the confirmed start. Later cancellation and no-shows are non-refundable. Egypt local time and receipt of your request determine the deadline.

A date change requested at least 24 hours ahead has no change fee, subject to availability, confirmation and any price difference. If the operator cancels, including for unsafe weather, you may choose an available alternative date or full refund. A change to one activity within an operating program is not automatically cancellation of the whole excursion; ask how the specific situation is handled.

Questions when choosing several Hurghada excursions

Which tours from Hurghada should I book first?

Start with the experience that matters most to you, then check its available dates and complete schedule. Fit shorter activities and rest time around the confirmed booking instead of assuming independently booked trips will connect.

Are all Luxor and Cairo minibuses private?

No. The linked minibuses are shared products with a maximum of eight guests. Exclusive transport or a custom itinerary requires a separately confirmed private arrangement.

Does an eight-hour island trip mean eight hours on the beach?

No. The overall day includes sailing and other activities. Paradise Island and Orange Bay programs list approximately two hours at the island destination, subject to conditions and the sailing schedule.

Can non-swimmers join an island day?

Snorkeling is optional on the linked island programs, so guests can enjoy the boat and island portions. Tell the crew your swimming ability and follow their instructions; joining the trip does not establish suitability for every water activity.

Are dolphin sightings included in the booking guarantee?

No. Dolphins are wild animals. The Dolphin House and private speedboat programs cannot guarantee a sighting or a swimming encounter.

Is the €150 speedboat price per person?

No. It is the base price for the whole private boat for up to six guests, including children. Add any confirmed transfer supplement and the optional Orange Bay charge for those visiting.

Does a child fare guarantee permission to drive a quad or parasail?

No. Price category and activity participation are separate. Provide ages before booking and follow the guide or crew decision based on the activity, ability, equipment and conditions.

Does every full-day excursion include lunch?

Check the specific product. The linked cultural and island programs include lunch and drinks; Super Safari includes BBQ dinner; the private speedboat lists fruit and drinks rather than a full lunch.

Can I use one child-age rule for every tour?

No. Each tour has its own age bands and child fares. Check the selected booking page instead of calculating half the adult price. Spa children receiving massage pay €25; accompanying children without massage are free. Cairo/Luxor retain their own child fares, while a private boat is priced per boat.

Can I change a booked tour to a different activity?

Contact us promptly with the requested change. Availability, price and confirmation are required, and the original cancellation terms still apply until a change is agreed.

Choose the tour page that matches your plans, or send your dates, hotel and priorities for help comparing the available programs. Confirm the details before treating a request as a booking.
